It was announced on Twitter last week that Adidas is moving into Metaverse and creating NFTs. This comes in the same week that their main competitor, Nike,
released their bid as well to enter the space. This was performed via POAP, a platform for distributing cryptocurrencies associated with specific events.
Many of the information about Adidas NFTs are not clear. It appears that the whole initial NFTs they sold have been sold out or are not available anymore via POAP. The company stated that “The digital collectible is our way of rewarding you for following your curiosity”, they added that this token proves that you were here from the start of this journey. There is a lot of talk about fashion NFTs in the last period. Many people have the sense that there is a lot of potential with this niche of NFTs. Nike has entered into the metaverse, further, by partnering with Roblox to create NikeLand. Which is free on the platform. There has been fashion involvement in Decentraland, as well as FEWOCiOUS, who created physical shoes, with their artwork on it. He has confirmed as well that his upcoming projects will in a great extent involve fashion.
