Art is releasing another another great NFT collection, this time by acclaimed photographer, filmmaker, and animal activist Steven Lyon.

Lyon has been creating paintings for about 30 years, and this time his subject is the massacre in Ukraine. Lyon takes us on an engaging journey, emphasizing on the connection that occurs between those fighting as brothers. What we all share in common and what is most essential to us.

Lyon’s first NFT drop has arrived, and more will follow in the near future. This is what Steven Lyon had to say about the collection:

“The art pieces I’ve created from my own fine art works are meant to show the tragic demise of the love and friendship these two amazing cultures had for each other just one month ago. I’ve created 5 NFT pieces that meant so much to me as an artist for their beauty. Now they say something else. I know I won’t be on a plane to bear arms and fight so I created these NFT images with the proceeds going to help the war torn Ukrainian people.”

“There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people,” said Howard Zinn

Steven’s longtime friend, model and philanthropist Petra Nemcova’s All Hands and Hearts Foundation, UNICEF Ukraine, and other Ukrainian relief organizations will get 100% of the proceeds from each NFT sale to support their vital efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine.

All Hands and Hearts has sent a team to Poland to help with various activities aimed at ensuring the safe passage of disabled and accompanying children over the Ukrainian border.

UNICEF is cooperating with partners to assist disadvantaged children and families with essential services like as health, education, protection, water and sanitation, and life-saving supplies. As of March 17th, 2022, UNICEF has sent 85 trucks carrying 858 tons of humanitarian aid to children and families in war-torn Ukraine and neighboring countries.

Pinhole commented: “This is a very thought provoking and symbolic collection of NFTs that we became fascinated with as the Ukraine crisis was unfolding, not only is it attractive for wallets worldwide but, along with Steven Lyon, we are dedicating the profits to help the ones who need it the most- the victims of this catastrophic war. The war has put many things into perspective for us and highlighted over again our fundamental need for freedom.”

About Steven Lyon

Lyon, a Los Angeles-based photographer, writer, and filmmaker, has long been considered as an enigma in the art world and a real renaissance dreamer. He has established a creative career both in front of and behind the camera for more than three decades.

Andy Warhol initially saw him as a model for his new Interview magazine in the early 1980s. In the 1980s and 1990s, he was one of the top male models in the world, and he is still one of the most well-known fashion models of the period.

He’s been a part of the Paris fashion scene for the previous 25 years, but this time he’s on the other side of the camera as a fine art, fashion, celebrity, and wildlife photographer. Films, notably film noir and German Expressionist cinematography, impacted Lyon.

In the city of lights, he established himself as a creative entrepreneur, sometimes irreverent, borderline renegade, creating his own path in the global arena of fashion photography. Lyon’s work has been presented in galleries around Europe and published in a range of magazines, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, and GQ, but mostly in exclusive art house publications.

Lyon has spent the past eight years working on “Something That Matters,” a major documentary film shot in Africa. This poignant video depicts the growing disaster of poaching and corruption, which threatens the extinction of the Rhino species as a whole. Lyon has walked over 1,000 kilometers into the African wilderness in search of the actual story behind the disaster.

Steven Lyon founded Lyonheartlove, a non-profit organization, in 2013. The documentary will be the group’s debut project.

Steven Lyon has returned to Los Angeles after a three-decade absence abroad and in New York City, where he founded and serves as acting editor in chief of a new art weekly named “INDULGE.” It is a bi-annual art and image book dedicated to film photography, including contributions from famous photographers and artists.

Lyon is still working relentlessly on rhino conservation, and his documentary, “Something That Matters,” will be published in the spring of 2023.
