G-Eazy and Ashley Benson are working on a great new project. The opening scene of the horror movie 18 & Over, which was only shown to PEOPLE, has the real-life couple in it. Benson wrote the script for the sultry slasher, which he also produced. The movie has a G-Eazy soundtrack and is set in a world where people are living alone more and more.
Benson, who is 32, plays Vicky, a woman who is looking for peace in a remote cabin after her breakup. She models lingerie for her fans on the 18 & Over live-streaming website until she is beaten with a crowbar by a man in a mask.
All of these people are part of the ensemble cast: Sky Ferreira, Luis Guzman, Winnie Harlow, Duke Nicholson, A$AP Nast, John Robinson, Paris Hilton, Lindsey Pelas, Pamela Anderson, Jon Foster, and Jake Weary.
The 18 & Over movie has a special release schedule that includes an exclusive NFT collection with artwork based on the characters and a link to the collector’s version of the movie for two months with each NFT. After those two months, you’ll be able to stream a version from the theater.
The collector’s cut gives you access to events, online hangouts, chances to talk to the cast and director, and more.
In a statement, Jimmy Giannopolous, who is the director, says: “I made 18 & Over because I wanted to make a movie that I would have sneaked into when I was younger. Music that kills, a slasher movie, a stoner movie, and a sensual thriller. With a nod to some of my favorite horror movies from the 1990s, we made a movie that is really scary and fun to watch.”
Giannopolous says that even though loneliness and addiction are always with us, “culture always comes up with new ways for them to show up.” “Let’s talk. Get some popcorn. I’m really excited about this new way to spread information because we can interact with the audience.”
On Friday, you can get your hands on 10,000 NFTs. On August 12, those with NFTs will be able to see the movie. Then, starting October 5, you can watch 18 & Over whenever you want.
