Tuesday, the company AuthenTIX released a digital ticketing platform that lets users buy tickets safely, claim them as NFTs, and get special event-related opportunities.
Ne-Yo is a Grammy Award-winning singer, actor, and businessman. As part of his collaboration with AuthenTIX, he will give NFTs to fans as part of “unique meet and greet packages” during an eight-stop UK tour from September 20 to September 29.
Ne-Yo told Insider that “Digital collectibles are the future and I’m incredibly excited to work with AuthenTIX to put NFTs right in the hands of my fans,” Ne-Yo said in a statement to Insider. “The company has the potential to create disruptive event experiences across the globe and bring entertainers and fans closer together than ever before in a secure way.”
Tishawn Gayle, the CEO of AuthenTIX, said, “With our technology, we’re looking to revolutionize the way event organizers and attendees interact with one another,” AuthenTIX CEO Tishawn Gayle said. “We’re thrilled to partner with Ne-Yo to connect with his fans in an unprecedented way and we truly feel the opportunities are endless. AuthenTIX has the capability to safely bolster the event experience across all sectors, from corporate to entertainment.”
Insider was sent a screenshot of AuthenTIX’s mobile app and the following explanation of the new company’s platform:
AuthenTIX, which is part of the GET Protocol ecosystem, makes it easy for users to buy digital tickets for events. Then, these tickets can be turned in for NFT collectibles. With each purchase, a locked QR code is made, and the most secure tickets are given out using blockchain technology. Because each customer gets a unique QR code and every ticket transaction is recorded, tickets can’t be copied. This makes it impossible to sell fake tickets or try to sell tickets on the secondary market.
The groundbreaking technology behind AuthenTIX also makes it possible for creators to fund their own events without relying on a single source of money.
Maarten Bloemers, CEO of GET Protocol, said in a statement, “We are thrilled to welcome AuthenTIX into the GET Protocol ecosystem,” GET Protocol CEO Maarten Bloemers said in a statement. “It is awesome to see a forward-thinking organization from the entertainment business expand into ticketing. I look forward to seeing AuthenTIX harness our tech for a better fan experience.”
