Billie Eilish is headed to the Metaverse.
The recording artist has filed 2 trademark applications for her name and Blohsh logo. The filings indicate an intent to expand her brand into 1. NFTs
2. virtual currencies
3. digital collectibles.
As a consequence of Eilish’s choice, fans will be able to purchase her downloaded digital content, downloadable video game software, and other virtual items, such as in-game resources and virtual money used in video games and virtual worlds.
This is unsurprising, considering that Universal Music Group (UMG) just announced a partnership with next-generation streaming platform Curio, and Billie Eilish is one of UMG’s most well-known recording artists.
As seen by these files, popular recording artists are getting interested in the metaverse and NFTs. According to Mr. Kondoudis, performers ranging from Dolly Parton to Grandmaster Flash and KISS have filed similar trademark applications.
The number of well-known organizations and household names filing for metaverse and NFT-related trademarks continues to grow, and this trend is not limited to artists.
