In May, BlockDown will hold its inaugural in-person event, the world’s first gamified NFT-enabled festival, in Croatia’s beach city of Sibenik.
This year’s conference will focus on Web3 — widely recognized as the internet’s next evolutionary phase — with a focus on the metaverse, NFTs, gaming, and how DAOs will play a greater part in our lives, including how we work, play, and socialize.

NFTs will operate as festival tickets, providing entry to a number of activities across the event’s several “realms” — different areas of the festival with their own unique look and feel, such as a contemporary and cyberpunk-inspired “fairy forest.” The BlockDown site will be littered with pop-up experiences, performances, and art projects, bringing the metaverse’s promise into the real world.
“We have been inspired to host a 3-day festival celebrating all things Web3 culture as we
believe there is a need for a different type of event in our industry,” says Erhan Kohallier, the founder of BlockDown Festival. “Unlike existing industry events, our plan is to take our attendees on a three-day trip into another universe, where the excitement and energy of the Web3, NFT and metaverse worlds collide in a feast for the senses.”

EXPECTATIONS
The event will attract over 3000 attendees from more than 50 countries, with 45 speakers, 10 keynote sessions, presentations, panels, exhibitors, and networking sessions sponsored by industry professionals. BlockDown Festival intends to be a jam-packed three days of innovative discussions and networking opportunities, bringing together a varied network of professionals, entrepreneurs, regulators, senior industry executives, and investors.
