Casetify, a company that specializes in phone covers, is the latest one to join this new area, announcing this week the launch of its new NFTyourcase platform.
As the name indicates, the platform allows you to validate your NFT and print it on a case to show “envious” passersby.
The platform makes use of MetaMask and WalletConnect to connect to a user’s digital wallet and validate NFT ownership. Additionally, each phone cover will have a QR code that connects to the NFT’s provenance and information.
According to Hypebeast, some “blue chip” NFT projects, such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, will also get a checkmark in the shape of a blue ring around the camera housing, as seen in the header image above.
As is customary with phone accessories, Apple and Samsung cellphones seem to be the only options for the time being. To that end, if you own an iPhone 8 or newer, or a Galaxy S20 or newer, you should be able to manufacture a cover.
Casetify CEO and co-founder Wes Ng said earlier this week in a press release, “Proving authentication is everything to an NFT owner, and our platform eliminates those worries by decentralizing the verification process for creating phygital goods.”
“The launch of NFT Your Case allows the community to flex their digital artworks right in the palm of their hands while opening the door to endless creative possibilities in the Metaverse.”
According to the site, it enables worldwide shipping, which means that local NFT fans may participate as well, as long as they have the appropriate smartphone and are ready to wait for customs clearance.
