Crypto payments firm MoonPay and NFT marketplace LooksRare sign new partnership

MoonPay, a web3 payments company, is working with LooksRare, a marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), to make it easier for traders to buy cryptocurrencies and NFTs on the platform. The two companies announced this on Thursday.

MoonPay’s infrastructure is meant to make it easier for LooksRare customers to move to Web3 and will offer a range of products to help transactions go smoothly. It has a feature called “NFT Checkout” that lets collectors buy NFTs with a debit or credit card without first buying cryptocurrency. Users of MoonPay will also be able to buy LOOKS, the native token of the market.

Oliver Jeffcott, the Senior Business Development Manager for MoonPay, said in a news release, “From day one, we’ve wanted MoonPay to be a platform that increases access and usability for the Web3 community and this partnership is another step in driving that vision.”

After getting $555 million in funding in November 2021, MoonPay has been working on ways to make crypto payments easier and bring Web3 users on board. In June, the company teamed up with Mastercard to let NFTs be bought with credit cards.
