The world’s biggest augmented reality (AR) and metaverse exhibition, created by Arhead in collaboration with Dubai Culture, opened at Sikka Art Festival and will run through March 24th.
Arhead is exhibiting two projects at the Sikka Art&Design Festival in Dubai: a Metaverse habitat and an augmented reality city installation. The exhibition, entitled ‘Celebrating Art, Celebrating Growth,’ brings together international digital artists and local producers. Arhead’s digital works will be on exhibit till March 24th at Dubai’s Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood.
The development of a Sikka house, complete with interactive displays and rooms designed by Arhead, will commemorate the Sikka Festival’s tenth anniversary in 2022. Arhead created the first Metaverse area for the Dubai Culture Department, establishing a constructive interaction with local culture in order to depict the public institution in the virtual metaverse reality.
At Sikka Festival, Arhead’s first Metaverse project constructs a virtual region using the platform’s cutting-edge technology. Visitors will be able to peruse the gallery and discover the work of digital artists while exploring the Metaverse area, which is housed inside the Sikka mansion in a special chamber. Arhead will also showcase six augmented reality and non-linear time sculptures made by six digital artists, three of whom are residents in the UAE and three worldwide members of Arhead’s Creator community. FATSPATROL, Nevine Meguid (Nectar Designs), and Christopher Hunt (Distressed Design) are among the artists included in the ground-breaking augmented reality exhibition, as are young talents such as Dries Schaballie (Belgium), Ronen Tantrum (Israel), and Yyy (Belgium) (Turkey). The augmented reality experience will span the whole of Dubai’s historic district, and tourists will be able to access it using QR codes.
All of the sculptures on show at the Sikka Art Festival will also exist in Arhead’s virtual domain, courtesy of special augmented reality and metaverse components. The festival’s visitors will be able to interact with the digital displays through their smartphones or an immersive projection display in Dubai.
