The iconic brand, Hello Kitty, belonging to Sanrio, is ready to create its first NFT, cooperating with RECUR, an NFT company concentrating on digital collectibles, the worldwide brand will abandon the NFT lifestyle early next year. This collaboration brings great things for the industry because RECUR is supported by investors such as Gary Vaynerchuk, Jason Derulo, and Joe Lubin, co-founder of ETH and others. The startup, guided by billionaire Steve Cohen, raised $50 million in September.
“To discover this new and novel business is an important challenge for us,” Silvia Figini, chief executive for the EMEA, India and Oceania Sanrio, stated in a press release. “For Sanrio, entering the NFT world adds a new way to a part of contemporary culture and a new way for our fans to enjoy our brand.”
Currently, the brand has announced short information about the future Hello Kitty’s NFTs. Nevertheless, RECUR mentioned that it will make a “custom experience” for fans of the character. In addition, fans can purchase, collect and sell Hello Kitty NFTs as digital collectibles on the platform.
