A proverb says that there is no straight path to success. It can lead to a few side trips along the way, like learning how to build airplanes, becoming a writer, keeping an eye on Bitcoin (BTC), or looking into the blockchain industry.
Ahmet Usta talked about how he went from being interested in technology as a child to starting several successful Web3 projects with a focus on blockchain games and nonfungible tokens (NFTs).
Because Usta liked technology and wanted to learn more about it, he went to Istanbul Technical University in Turkey to study aerospace engineering. After that, he worked for different companies while trying to build a career in IT. After ten years, something strange happened to Usta. He told me:
“By some strange coincidence, I found myself as a technology writer and editor. I’ve written about technology for Bloomberg Businessweek Turkey and a variety of other publications.”
Then Usta got interested in Bitcoin and “kept a close eye on it.” Usta was interested in the technology behind cryptocurrencies. He co-wrote Turkey’s first book on blockchain and then went on to work as an expert on blockchain, giving speeches, leading seminars, and teaching business people.
Back in 2021, the businessman worked on a blockchain game project that used NFTs. After the project was successful, he gave it to his business partner so he could focus on ELYT, a longer-term project that just got more money to use Web3 technology to connect brands and influencers.
When asked why he thinks it’s important for brands to use Web3 technologies like NFTs, Usta said that it’s because NFT technology is more than just an app. It’s a new way to look at things. He talked about this:
When you start to think in this new way, you start to come up with new ideas. The only other problems are technical and business-related. The key is to be able to come up with real business models from a different point of view.
The executive also said that NFT can be used in any way that people can think of. He says that the only thing the monkey graphics and game assets are is a small snowball rolling on the part of the iceberg that is above water.
Usta thinks that Web3 has made a lot of doors open. He thinks that the world needs technologies like decentralized finance (DeFi), Bitcoin, Ethereum, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and more. He talked about this:
“Innovation begins to sprout as soon as you can begin to think in this new way. The rest is simply an engineering and business problem. The key is to be able to create real business models from a fresh perspective.”
The Web3 business owner also said that NFTs make it harder to own digital assets that could be copied over and over, and he was sure that the market would find many other uses. Usta also said that he thinks DeFi will be an important part of the future of finance.
