HTC Is Getting Ready To Launch A Metaverse Phone: Here’s What We Know So Far Thus far, HTC has established a reputation for favoring virtual reality and developing its own metaverse.

HTC plans to offer a premium next-generation smartphone with immersive metaverse technology. Taiwan’s electronics juggernaut has been attempting to recapture the early success that propelled them to global prominence. According to reports, Charles Huang, the company’s General Manager for the Asia-Pacific region, claimed during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 in Barcelona, Spain, that a new high-end smartphone with metaverse capabilities will be unveiled in April. However, little details are known, such as the phone’s specifications or the markets in which it will be offered. Additionally, there is no news on the sort of virtual or augmented reality components that will be incorporated.

According to a DigiTimes report, HTC unveiled Viverse, its vision for the metaverse, at MWC 2022. Additionally, new applications such as 5G edge cloud technologies, in-vehicle virtual reality, and location-based entertainment were shown.

HTC, formerly known for its Android smartphones, has shifted its focus to developing virtual reality experiences for the Vive platform. Cher Wang, HTC’s chairman, and co-founder explained in a video that Vive represented life and Verse represented its chapters.

Apart from the smartphone’s compatibility with virtual reality and its status as a high-end device, the company made no more announcements, as previously said. While there is plenty of room for speculation, this is a fantastic place to start.

HTC is well-known for its emphasis on virtual reality and the creation of the Viverse, its own take on the metaverse. Additionally, it produces one of the top virtual reality headsets on the market. HTC will not cut corners when it comes to developing a high-quality virtual reality solution that doubles as a powerful smartphone, according to these numbers.
