The iconic food and beverage company, Pepsi, enters the NFT space with the help of VaynerNFT. NFT Consulting and Strategy Gary Wei designed the NFT series for Pepsi and helped bring them to market.
The “Pepsi Mic Drop” NFTs will be announced on Tuesday, December 14 at 12:30 PM Eastern Time. In addition, Pepsi releasing them out for free. Even so, collectors will still have to pay for ETH gas fees when minting NFT.
Any way, the drop will only be available to people who enter the waiting list. It means that the waiting list opens on Friday, December 10, at 12:00 pm Eastern time. Hopeful collectors can visit the collection website that day to be on the waiting list.
The NFTs are a variety of microphones with different characteristics, containing some inspired by Pepsi flavors. Obviously, Pepsi used the microphone stand as a reference to its long history of working in the music industry.
There will be 1893 NFTs in this series. Mainly, this number indicates Pepsi’s year of birth. As mentioned, Pepsi will have 1843 NFT available. Pepsi will keep the remaining 50 NFTs from the series for the next initiatives they have scheduled.
The “Mic Drop” series is Pepsi’s first in the NFT space. They follow in the footsteps of a number of iconic, global brands which have announced NFTs current year. Coca-Cola and Budweiser, as an example, have both dropped NFTs in 2021. And these are just two lists of the two main names in Pepsi’s industry.
While Pepsi is not the initial brand to drop NFTs, it still seeks to stand out from the crowd. In particular, its decision to announce NFTs for free is significant. Likewise, Pepsi decided to create its own waitlist to limit people from purchasing multiple NFTs
