The Miller Lite Beer company has just opened a virtual bar in Decentraland. The Meta Lite Bar is similar to a normal bar, but with a few changed.
Additionally to popular bar games and decors, like a pool table and a jukebox, the Meta Lite Bar allows customers to enjoy virtual beer and perform on an open microphone stage. Furthermore, plus acting as a marketing tactic, the Meta Lite Bar bypasses the Superbowl’s ad block.
This is because Miller Lite’s rival, Anheuser Busch, sponsors the NFL’s beer. Thus, the former cannot run traditional ads during the Superbowl. Via the Meta Lite Bar, customers can watch Miller Lite’s Super Bowl promotional video. Besides, the company is giving away $500 to the 10 lucky Meta Lite Bar customers on the eve of the Superbowl.
“While many brands are now appearing in the metaverse world, Miller Lite is keeping one foot in the virtual world and the other in the real world,” said Sofia Colucci, Vice President of the Miller family of global brands.
She continued: “We use our Meta Lite Bar to motivate real-life hangouts over real-life beer and give guests the opportunity to achieve their shares of Miller Lite on game- day. Presently, you and your avatar can enjoy Miller Time with your friends.”
