Phantom Solana wallet now supports Ethereum and Polygon

The popular mobile and browser wallet offers a seamless multichain experience to attract new users.

Phantom, a self-custodial wallet, announced today that its mobile app and browser wallets now handle both the Ethereum and Polygon networks at the same time. This gives users access to more dApps across the Web3 landscape, such as Magic Eden, Uniswap, Aave, blur, and OpenSea.

In November, the popular Solana wallet said it would support Ethereum and Polygon, two competing blockchains. The goal was to make it possible to connect with the three largest blockchains for digital collectibles in one place.

The company asserts that the new features will simplify the management of numerous accounts and assets across blockchains by eliminating the need to switch between wallets and introducing the capacity to import existing MetaMask, Solana, and EVM wallets.

Phantom was first released in March 2021. Its iOS wallet came out in January 2022, after it had raised $109 million. Then, in April of last year, a version of the Phantom wallet for Android was released.

Since the Phantom wallet added support for Ethereum and Polygon in beta last fall, the company says that more than 100,000 people have signed up to use it. Phantom said that in the future, they want to make NFT sales fast and build a bridge so that assets can be moved between the Solana and Ethereum networks.

“We believe that the future of digital asset management lies in cross-chain interoperability,” Brandon Millman, co-founder, and CEO of Phantom, said in a statement. “We’re committed to providing our users with the tools and resources they need to easily navigate and transact across various blockchain networks.”
