Ralph Lauren registers meteverse-based trademarks for name & logo


Polo Ralph Lauren, an American fashion company, has registered nine trademarks for its name and logo in the metaverse. Polo company registered the trademark for its Polo Player Logo, and the named POLO and RALPH LAUREN.

Mike Condodis, USPTO-licensed trademark counsel, posted the details of the trademark application on Twitter.

Specifically, the brand contains virtual fashion shows, virtual hotels and restaurants, NFT-supported multimedia, virtual clothing, shoes, and perfumes.

In addition, the trademark program includes downloadable multimedia files related to NFT-certified artworks involved in fashion, clothing, lifestyle, shoes, household goods, and so on. It also includes downloadable computer software for cryptocurrency wallets, and downloadable virtual goods for use in the online virtual spaces.

In early January, Ralph Lauren CEO Patrice Louvet stated that the fashion brand is tracking down opportunities in the metaverse to attract the younger generation of buyers. “There are actually many similarities between the metaverse and Ralph Lauren’s prospect, as we are not a fashion company,” he said. “We are in a dream business.”

It should be noted that many companies in the fashion industry have stepped into the metaverse and made their own NFT series’. Lately, well-known fast-food chain companies have also registered trademarks for names and logos in the metaverse and NFT.
