With five new NFT artworks on auction, famous contemporary painter Paresh Maity has entered the NFT world on Friday, March 4th.
Three of Paresh Maity’s artworks are physical drawings with correlative NFTs. The price of each pair is USD110,000.
The auctioned pieces are “Wedding Bell” (2013), a seven-feet oil painting on a canvas. Another is “A Morning” (2006), a 72 × 72 inch masterpiece. There is the “The Perpetual Galore” (2021), oil paint and 7.5 x 4.5 inch acrylic on canvas.
However, the remaining two assets, are just NFTs, priced at $5,000 each. They will show these NFT-only assets at the auction.
“In the digital world, I see that young people are more responsive to animation and GIFs. It needs a different aesthetic and a different innovative activity. I have done a lot of happy abstract and surreal work throughout my career. With NFT, I think exploring more of these images will be challenging,” says Maity.
Interested parties can participate in the auction at the WazirX NFT marketplace. Gallery Art Exposure, Kolkata-based art curator, is holding the auction.
“We are very excited to reveal the release of Paresh Maity’s NFTs on our platform. At the time that the NFT market has taken the world by storm, famous traditional artists have largely been left out. We are pleased that the WazirX NFT marketplace is linking the space between traditional art and NFT” stated Vishakh Singh, vice President of WazirX.
Maity and Singh wish to inspire traditional artists to step into the NFTs and blockchain. Recently, the Indian contemporary art market has ultimately caught up with the crypto craze.
