Theta Networks will offer Galaxy NFTs as part of a new drive to offer Samsung users a creative consumer experience, involving access to virtual events through ThetaPass.
Samsung Electronics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with partners, containing Theta Labs, to launch an NFT ecosystem for its new Galaxy range of mobile phones.
“Samsung Electronics is promoting innovation in the consumer experience, which connects NFTs in the online virtual world to offline real benefits.”
The company stated that the NFT ecosystem promotes “consumer experience innovation” by joining the virtual world with benefits in the real world.
NFT for better customer experience
Samsung plans to use NFTs as a way to offer “practical benefits” like customer discounts and an authentication tools – details to be confirmed at a phone unveiling event planned for August 10.
At the event, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Fold 4, that is said to feature an improved hinge design, slimmer build, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus with 4 nm processing tech, according to CNET.
With the list of partners in the MOU, the Korean-language press release suggested an in-person/retail component to the utilization process. It prepared a list of retail partners, consisting of the company’s in-house Digital Plaza stores.
“Samsung Electronics will continue to innovate the customer experience which joins the virtual world and the real world using NFT with different partners”.
Theta Labs’ role is to issue the Galaxy NFTs, while NFC payment solutions company Allink offers authentication services.
In an English-language press report shared with CryptoSlate, Theta Network co-founder Mitch Liu mentioned that Theta is “releasing the world’s largest offline NFT tool campaign.”
“Over 100,000 NFT holders can use their Theta NFT online and offline via ThetaPass technology. This is just the start, and we will continue to expand our coverage of retail and e-commerce stores and useful tools to extend the benefits of Samsung NFT holders”.
ThetaPass refers to an NFT ticketing system for access to virtual events that was first mentioned in January.
Samsung had previously cooperated with Theta Networks
Theta Networks and Samsung had previously cooperated on an NFT digital collectibles project in February to celebrate the launch of the Galaxy S22 and S8 Tablets.
Pre-order purchasers of the above models in Korea could get free NFT by registering on Theta Network’s NFT marketplace – ThetaDrop. This process includes using a special code got through verification via the “Samsung Members” app.
At the time, Liu said the partnership “exemplifies global adoption of Theta’s blockchain tech.” And that he looks forward to building a long-term community via this chance.
