Daniel ‘6ix9ine’ Hernandez, the iconic New York rapper, has released a new NFT collection called Giné, which is also the name of his newest tune, only months after being accused of “scamming” fans with a previous NFT collection.
In October 2021, 6ix9ine released the Trollz NFT collection on the Solana blockchain, with 6969 profile picture-style photographs inspired by the rapper going on sale.
One fan even created 82 Trollz and bought many more on the secondary market, but has since determined that none of the promised returns on investment for holders will be realized.
Now, 6ix9ine is releasing a new collection and talking about what went wrong with Trollz — and why he won’t let it happen again.
In connection with his most recent single, Giné NFT, 6ix9ine has created the Giné NFT collection, 3D art that seems to be inspired by his image once again.
“To all my fans, I just launched my Giné NFT line, and I’m incredibly excited because there are a lot more surprises on the way,” he said on Instagram. “Please join the Discord and download the NFT!”
6ix9ine reacts to Trollz’s claims that the NFT is a “scam.”
In another video advertising the Giné brand, the rapper did speak out about what happened with Trollz, explaining why this time would be different.
“I want to apologize,” he said. “I apologize because I jumped into the NFT community without knowing what a NFT was … I wasn’t well-informed. It was a paid partnership that I took advantage of. What makes this so different is it’s not a paid partnership. It’s my own brand. There’s a powerful team behind this.”
6ix9ine is without a doubt one of the most talked-about rappers in the game right now, and he and his supporters will be hoping that success carries over to the NFT.
With his name tied to the project, there is reason to believe that it will not be abandoned like Trollz was — but only time will tell.
