Iconics, an NFT project on Solana, is accused of a “rugpull” and cheating people. In the world of crypto, a rugpull occurs when a person deceives investors by not delivering a project and then runs away with all the money. It is reported that the 17-year-old artist behind Iconics took about $140,000 before disappearing.
Iconics was expected to give 8000 NFTs with randomized 3D artwork. Whereas, after the Mint on September 30, investors got a random set of emojis instead of the artwork. After this scam, many purchasers took to Twitter to share their experience.
Solana which is a well-known NFT account SOLBigBrain got caught up in the scandal as well.
