The awaited overall sale of Splinterlands Chaos Legion pack was a big success. Though the sale began only the day before, players have already bought more than 40% of the 15 million existing NFT packs.

This is a great achievement, even for the most popular NFT-enabled game in the world. The news came shortly after the pre-sale of Chaos Legion, that was just as successful.
This has been an incredible week for Splinterlands, as its public sale phase has officially started on January 18th. Players could buy the newest Chaos Legion NFT packs, which include five cards per pack. The packs are available through credits, where players can purchase in exchange for the Splinterlands native tokens, $SPS and $ DEC.

In addition, the team arranged a creative airdrop system so that all users have a good opportunity to receive their collectibles. Principally, pre-sold users got 4K credit as coupons, which was delivered as part of the ongoing daily airdrop. These mechanics stopped players from stepping in to purchase multiple packages, so ensuring equal distribution.

Therefore, pre-sales purchasers became qualified to receive rare air dropped cards. Consequently, one of the cards in each pack is a rare (or higher) card. In addition, some cards can be converted to gold versions, thus growing their value and level.
