Steven Lyon, the iconic model/photographer/filmmaker, drops NFTs in aid of Ukraine's war victim children

Andy Warhol spotted him in Hollywood, and he went on to have a successful modeling career in the 1980s and 1990s. Lyon has been creating art for over 30 years, and this time his subject isn’t supermodels or celebrities like as Serena Williams and Chris Cornel. Not only is he known for his gruesome animal shots, but he is also combining them with artwork inspired by Ukraine’s bloodshed. Lyon takes us on an engaging journey, emphasizing on the connection that occurs between those fighting as brothers. What we all share in common and what is most essential to us.

Lyons’ first NFT release, and more will follow in the near future. This is what Steven Lyon had to say about the collection:

“The art pieces I’ve created from my own fine artworks are meant to show the tragic demise of the love and friendship these two amazing cultures had for each other just one month ago. I’ve created 4 NFT pieces that meant so much to me as an artist for their beauty. Now they say something else. I know I won’t be on a plane to bear arms and fight so I created these NFT images with the proceeds going to help the war-torn Ukrainian people.”

“There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people,” Howard Zinn.

Each NFT sale will result in a 100% donation to the All Hands and Hearts Foundation, which was founded by Steven’s longtime friend, model, and philanthropist Petra Nemcova to support their vital efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine.

All Hands and Hearts has sent a team to Poland to help with various activities aimed at ensuring the safe passage of disabled and accompanying children over the Ukrainian border., a major digital art gallery, has teamed with popular marketplace Opensea to offer “The Freedom Drop,” which will be available on March 24th, 2022.

Pinhole commented: “This is a very thought-provoking and symbolic collection of NFTs that we became fascinated with as the Ukraine crisis was unfolding, not only is it attractive for wallets worldwide but, along with Steven Lyon, we are dedicating the profits to help the ones who need it the most- the victims of this catastrophic war. The war has put many things into perspective for us and highlighted over again our fundamental need for freedom.”

About Steven Lyon

About Steven Lyon

Lyon, a photographer, writer, and filmmaker from Los Angeles, has long been considered as an enigma in the art world and a real renaissance dreamer. For more than three decades, he has established a creative legacy both in front of and behind the camera.

Andy Warhol initially saw him in the early 1980s as a model for his new Interview magazine. He was one of the top male models in the world in the 1980s and 1990s, and he is still one of the most well-known fashion models of the period.

He’s been a part of the Paris fashion scene for the last 25 years, but this time he’s on the other side of the camera as a fine art, fashion, celebrity, and wildlife photographer. Lyon was inspired by films, notably film noir and German Expressionist cinematography.

He established himself in the city of lights as a creative entrepreneur, sometimes irreverent, sometimes renegade, making his own path in the global arena of fashion photography. Lyon’s work has been presented in galleries around Europe and published in a range of media, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, and GQ, but mostly in prominent art house publications.

Lyon has spent the past eight years working on “Something that Matters,” a feature documentary film shot in Africa. This compelling video depicts the growing disaster of poaching and corruption, which threatens the extinction of the whole Rhino species. Lyon has gone over 1,000 kilometers on foot through the African wilderness in search of the actual story behind the disaster.

In 2013, Steven Lyon founded Lyonheartlove, a non-profit organization. The documentary will be the organization’s first endeavor.

Steven Lyon has returned to his homeland of Los Angeles after a three-decade adventure abroad and in New York City, where he created and serves as interim editor in chief of a new art daily named “INDULGE.” It’s a bi-annual art and image publication dedicated to film photography, including famous photographers and artists.
Lyon continues to work diligently on rhino conservation, and his documentary, “Something That Matters,” will be published in the spring of 2023.
