The creator of the most expensive cookbook in the world, Vikas Khanna, has released a brand-new item.
A limited-edition cookbook is also included.
However, this time it includes an NFT to demonstrate ownership.
Chef Vikas Khanna was born in India but now lives and works in New York. He has teamed up with the NFT platform Akshaya to publish a brand-new, unusual cookbook.
The title of the latest book is Sacred Foods of India.
The first marketplace for Metaverse-related goods, NFTs, and digital twins of physical goods in India was Akshaya.io. Additionally, they provide NFT pairings for other items such as jewelry, antiques, and boutique furniture.
According to Akshaya.io, they have invested $10 million on the website.
A wooden box made of maple and walnut that is decorated in Swarovski crystals contains Sacred Foods of India.
The NFT that it contains is kept on the Ethereum Blockchain.
It provides access to the digital doppelganger of the cookbook. The NFT serves as the hard copy’s ownership and authenticity certificate. Only 250 books are known to exist.
Khanna says, “I wanted to combine the digital and physical into this one-of-a-kind collectible like no other cookbook author has done before.”
Vikas Khanna’s recipes
The vegetarian cookbook was written by Khanna, the presenter of MasterChef India, using a collection of more than 100 sacred recipes.
Khanna says, “Sacred Foods of India is a passionate compilation of traditions and cultures followed during preparation of prasad and foods served at religious places in India for many centuries. The 420-page book lists 108 holy recipes from 66 Hindu temples, five gurudwaras, five mosques and dargahs, two prominent Buddhist monasteries, one Jewish synagogue, and one church.”
