MILWAUKEE (30 March 2022) — The Milwaukee Bucks are releasing “Fear the Deer NFTs,” a fan-focused Digital Collectibles experience. The collection, created in collaboration with NFT marketplace and distribution platform Sweet, will provide Bucks fans with access to the next generation of sports memorabilia.

Those in attendance at the Bucks vs. Clippers game on Friday, April 1st at Fiserv Forum will be able to grab a free Digital Collectible poster (while supplies last) and begin their Fear the Deer NFT adventure.

Sweet’s most recent venture pushes the limits of how sports fans may connect with their favorite teams. Furthermore, as the Fear the Deer NFT experience progresses, fans will have access to new collections, special digital products, and the potential to earn real-world advantages and other perks to enhance their experience.

The “Championship Collection,” one of the first collections released by Sweet and the Bucks, comprises three special items, each celebrating the Bucks’ 2021 NBA title triumph.

The team will present and auction off two limited series of Rare NFT Rings commemorating its 1971 and 2021 championships, respectively. The auction for the Championship Rings will begin at 8 a.m. CT on April 8, 2022, and will end on Sunday, April 10 at 8 p.m. CT at fearthedearnfts.com.

In addition, the Bucks will auction off two 1-of-1 Ultra Rare NFTs displaying the team’s two NBA Championship Rings on Friday, April 8th. The winning bidder for these digital treasures will also get an actual championship ring, made by Jason of Beverly Hills, imitating the ring handed out in that Championship year, if they hold the NFT on June 30, 2022.

With NBA fans longing for a piece of the digital collectible action, Fear the Deer NFTs allows Bucks fans to collect, trade, and own digital collectibles featuring their favorite team.

Fear the Deer NFTs will be offered first and foremost to Bucks supporters who attend home games for the rest of the 2021-22 season. For those who are unable to attend Fiserv Forum to collect each game-issued item, these may become available in limited numbers at fearthedeernfts.com as well as secondary marketplaces, allowing fans to obtain the treasures they were unable to collect in person.

“Bucks fans are next-level when it comes to their team, and they’ll enjoy the ability to construct their digital shrine to the team,” Bucks Chief Marketing Officer Dustin Godsey said. “Fear the Deer NFTs will increase over time, and we’re happy for fans to be able to extend their enthusiasm for the Bucks beyond the home floor and into the digital sphere.”

In the sports world, NFTs are increasingly being employed as digital extensions of the tangible mementos that fans have long desired and collected. An increasing number of leagues and clubs are resorting to digital collectibles to provide fans with rare and one-of-a-kind opportunities to own the moment or memorialize their gaming experience. Fans may begin their Championship Collection with a free poster (while supplies last), then continue to buy the NFTs in this collection when they release and begin filling and creating their unique Fear the Deer NFT experience.

“NBA teams and players are becoming interested in NFTs,” stated Sweet CEO Tom Mizzone. “We’re happy to be working with the Milwaukee Bucks, and we’re looking forward to assisting them in developing a new method for their fans and collectors to own and engage with digital items both online and in the virtual world.”
