There are many ways that a DAO can work, but one thing these communities have in common is that they come together for digital collaboration – whether keeping and collecting artworks, distributing tokens for governance, or easily splitting bills over dinner.
Independent decentralized organizations, such as PleasrDAO, FlamingoDAO, and CypherDAO, first joined the Foundation to raise funds for the collective buy of NFTs, and to demonstrate their shared values. For example, PleasrDAO raised the Itzel Yard’s Dreaming at Dusk with ETH 500, that was used to fund The Tor Project mission to defending privacy and freedom online.
The DAOs we have seen until now are prototypes that others can expand, whether by collecting or creating as a means of recording their ethics on the blockchain, to create digital cultural spaces that plans beyond traditional art institutions which they could gain.
