Tron founder Justin Sun was summoned yesterday over his complaints about the non-receipt of crypto airdrop for the stablecoins donated by the TRON Association to the official Ukrainian DAO.
“In response to the humanitarian request from Mykhailo Fedorov, TRON Association has donated more than $1.2 million in USDT. But presently the airdrop entirely ignores them. It’s just unfair, we have to fix it.” Sun wrote.
The above tweet provoked a lot of criticism after asking for something in return for his donation in this critical time. NFT influencer, Farokh.eth was one of those critics. “You are shouting about ‘injustice’ while the Ukrainian people are hiding,” he said. Justin Sun blocked Farokh.eth after a series of back-and-forth comments.
It is clear that Justin’s tweet has affected the public perception of him and TRON. The present level of hostility toward the founder of TRON is quite obvious via the community’s comments like “ill mentally” or “#TRON terribly presenting what is important to them in this hard time.”
“My job is to protect the interests of #TRON users,” Justin Sun defended himself in a series of tweets. But this did not go well for him. The comments which followed the tweets were critical of him as well. Briefly, the tweets further damaged his reputation. Hence, he finally deactivated his tweet comments after weighing the pros and cons of the situation.
On February 26, Ukraine’s official Twitter account said that it is “presently accepting cryptocurrency donations.” The short tweet had the country’s wallet addresses for BTC, ETH and USDT.
