UAE postal service releases its own NFT stamps

On the occasion of the 50th National Day of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Emirates Post Group (EPG) releases a series of NFT stamps.

The EPG will release four special stamps on December 2nd to highlight the importance of the United Arab Emirates golden day. The stamps are related to a physical counterpart.

On the occasion of the history of the United Arab Emirates, the first stamp is named “The Golden Jubilee 2021”. The rarest of the four NFTs, consists of one gram of fine gold. Second, the NFT “Spirit of the Union-1971” stamp is presented to the founding fathers of the country. In addition, the third stamp is named ‘Years of the 50th- 2021’. Ultimately, the fourth stamp, ‘Projects of the 50th-2017’, shows the future vision of the UAE.

The CEO of the Emirates Post Group commented on the announcement. Abdullah Mohammad Alashram stated: “We are proud to announce the launch of the first NFT stamp in the region, that uses blockchain technology. We are cutting over the gap between traditional stamps and the world of digital currencies.”

This is by no means a new project for the EPG. Though the stamps depict the history and milestones of the UAE, there is more to it. Actually, they see the project as the first step in combining a “digital oriented” approach to how the country will act in the future.
