DC Comics has given the world some of the most well-known superheroes of all time, and it’s safe to say that DC superheroes were a part of most people’s childhoods in the majority of countries throughout the world. Among others, Batman is battling the Joker in Gotham, Aquaman is ruling the seven seas, and Amazonia’s Wonder Woman is defending the world.
Warner Bros., via DC, knows how to produce compelling stories that captivated us as youngsters and continue to captivate us as adults. The man himself, Krypton’s own Superman—the man of steel—is without a doubt DC’s most well-known superhero.
Warner Brothers and Cartamundi
Cartamundi Group, a pioneer in the playing card industry, has teamed with Warner Bros Consumer Products. Hro’s DC Hybrid Trading Cards made their debut on March 10, 2022. Thanks to HRO, an intelligent platform that seamlessly links the digital and physical worlds, fans will be able to trade DC-based “hybrid” NFT trading cards based on some of the most well-known DC superheroes and supervillains.
Warner Bros. and Cartamundi will produce over 6 million DC-inspired actual trading cards, along with associated NFTs that may be redeemed in a couple of weeks. Cartamundi will produce the 155 different superhero cards using its significant experience in the board and card game business.
Warner Bros. is all-in on this venture, and these NFTs will be available on Immutable X, an Ethereum side chain that has lately gained critical acclaim. “Cartamundi is excited to partner with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to bring a breakthrough hybrid physical and digital fan engagement platform and solution, Hro, to market,” stated Stefaan Merckx, Cartamundi’s CEO, of the partnership.
Warner Bros. plans to incorporate characters and imagery from the most recent DC Comics film, “The Batman,” throughout March. Following the release of Hro’s DC Hybrid Trading Cards in March 2022, we may expect further limited-edition goods throughout the year.
The Hro app will make it easier for users to enjoy their physical and virtual cards, and each physical card will have a QR code that can be used to connect it to its digital “twin.” Buyers will also have access to a 24-hour marketplace where they may trade cards using the Hro app.
