Dolly Parton, the country music icon, has partnered with FOX Entertainment’s Blockchain Creative Labs and blockchain company Eluvio to create a one-of-a-kind Web3 experience for everybody.
She’ll be releasing NFT souvenirs, a new album, and a book titled “Run, Rose, Run” with famed author James Patterson through Dollyverse. Additionally, there will be a free live musical performance during South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.
Dolly will make her live television debut on Friday, March 18, at Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater. At the event, which will be hosted by Connie Britto, an Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee, Parton and Patterson will discuss the project. Dolly will next perform selections from Run, Rose, Run, as well as some of her other timeless favorites.
Throughout the Livestream, viewers will have the opportunity to purchase actual and approved NFT merchandise. Additionally, they may buy the limited-edition NFTs for the record, as well as a series of Dolly-inspired NFT artwork. Her NFTs will run on the Content Fabric proof-of-authority consensus blockchain.
Dolly’s fans will delight in this surprise, and she will discover something new about herself.
“There’s almost nothing more important to me than connecting with my fans. And I’m almost always up for trying something new and different,” Dolly shared on her website. “I’d say releasing NFTs at my first ever appearance at SXSW, with James Patterson by my side, definitely counts as new and different!”
Everyone who attends her next event in person will get a complimentary NFT. Tokens will be distributed to streaming viewers as a symbol of their participation.
According to Danny Nozell, Dolly’s manager, she is venturing out of her comfort zone to connect with fans of all generations. “Once again, Dolly is at the top of her game,” Nozell said. “Her goal with new music has always been to use her abilities to connect with people. This cooperation with BCL at SXSW, as well as the release of ‘Dollyverse,’ provide up a new outlet for her to do so.”
Dolly is one of a growing number of audacious vocalists who have chosen to join the blockchain space and create her own NFTs. Who could forget Katy Perry’s NFT collection, “The Roar Package,” on Theta Network, or Snoop Dogg’s NFT collection, “A Journey with the Dogg?” Perhaps more singers and songwriters will join Web3 and release NFTs this year.
