Hasbro, a worldwide toy brand, and World of Women have collaborated to create an exclusive version of Monopoly. The board game, called “World of Women Galaxy Monopoly”, will initially be available as an NFT to World of Women and WoW Galaxy holders. Then, NFT holders can redeem their Monopoly NFT for a physical version of the game.
“Collaborating with a historical brand as Monopoly” is a wonderful opportunity for WoW holders and the entire collective,” stated Yam Karkai, the co-founder of the World of Women series.
World of Women Galaxy Monopoly will have many of the same traits as the original Monopoly, but with a few changes: the artwork will come from the World of Women and WoW Galaxy series’. For example, the in-game Monopoly currency will presently have WoW NFTs portraits.
WS Company, the only advanced toy designer licensed by Hasbro, will produce the game. Joining forces with WoW is “a perfect opportunity,” said Kerry Addis, co-owner of WS, in part because of WoW’s mission to promote equal opportunity between the genders Web3.
There is still no timeline for the game’s production, release date, and when WoW holders can expect to see it in their Web3 wallets. A WoW representative stressed that the art in the media samples is only a teaser and doesn’t necessarily represent the final product.
World of Women in 2022 has been busy
After 2021 saw World of Women’s elevate to blue-chip status among NFT series’, 2022 was a year to build. Below are three examples of Women’s World news in the current year.
Initially, actress Reese Witherspoon’s company Hello Sunshine cooperated with the series. The goal is to bring the WoW NFTs to life in a mix of media, containing film and TV. Yan Karkai stated that at the time which she couldn’t have found a better partner than Witherspoon.
Second, accounting firm KMPG purchased World of Women #2681. The aim behind the high-profile buy was to bring more women into this area of technology, that is changing the way “we communicate with each other.”
Lastly, the WoW group made a big statement a few months ago, revealing a collaboration with the metaverse The Sandbox. The agreement launched a World of Women foundation with four goals to strive for greater inclusion in the NFT space.
The WoW-themed Monopoly game is good news as well, particularly for World of Women holders. And it shows the potential for NFT companies to cooperating with IRL companies: using the IP of NFT series’, a company can create appealing crossover products.
