BAYC Otherside’s metaverse becomes clearer as time passes. Yuga Labs has recently released more details on the Legends of Mara 2D gameplay experience. The “boards” in this episode were created using Voyagers’ Otherdoings. Furthermore, only one Vessel at a time may “nest” on a given board. Let’s review the information we have so far on Legends of Mara.
What has Yuga Labs recently revealed ?
The Otherdeed Expanded NFT will serve as the playing field for Yuga Labs’ 2D web-based game, Legends of The Mara (LoTM). To play, players will require a Koda, Kodamara, Mara (Hunter or Farmer), or Vessel, in addition to at least one Otherdeed Expanded NFT.
At this time, holders of Otherdeeds can stake a claim to a maximum of one Vessel for every Otherdeed they own. The Voyagers’ claimed ships will be divided at random into three categories: hunters, farmers, and magicians.
Yuga Labs has confirmed that ships would play a major role in the game. Only one Vessel can be nested inside an Otherdeed Expanded at a time. Therefore, the game staff at Yuga Labs advised taking care when selecting the first vessel or vessels to nest into Mara. Nesting dynamics are discussed in further depth in the Legends of the Mara Litepaper.
“Vessels with the Enchanter trait and Enchanter Mara have a special role,” the Yuga Labs team added. We should have more information about it soon.
What to know ?
Yuga Labs unveiled LoTM at the month’s end of March. The game delves thoroughly into the background of the Otherside, the Kodas, and their innate connection to their environment.
Kodas are the primary protectors of the Otherside. Several Otherdeed NFTs include these. Players have the option of include or excluding kodas from these NFTs. Another important part of the game is the arrival of Maras, who are alien creatures that hatch from Vessels after a period of incubation. At first, Maras are only capable of performing simple tasks, and they are typically categorized as either Farmers, Hunters, or Enchanters.
Yuga Labs has revealed that its upcoming cryptocurrency, Maras, will be an ERC-721 token that stands apart from Vessels and is a part of a new contract/NFT series. As soon as a Mara is released from a Vessel, it can be traded for other virtual items.
More details about LoTM will be released in the following weeks. According to Yuga Labs, more details will be revealed when the game’s release date draws nearer, and “during gameplay, there will be opportunities to earn new entitlements, upgrade existing entitlements, and evolve entitlements earned.”
