Web3 game developer Zynga has announced plans to get into NFTs, blockchain-based gaming, as well as other Web3 projects. The company is best known for its FarmVille and CSR Racing games. Comes four months after Matt Wolf, the vice president of blockchain gaming, was hired by the company in November of 2021. The game developer has plans for blockchain-based gaming. People also say the company is thinking about increasing its blockchain staff, which is now just 15, to about 100 by the end of 2017.
Zynga has also said that by the end of this year, it plans to double the number of people working on blockchain games from 15 to up to 100. Take-Two Interactive, the company that makes Grand Theft Auto, has announced that it plans to buy the company for $12.7 billion dollars in the first quarter of 2023. The company could also soon be part of Take-Two.
In a clear statement, Wolf said that the company’s game developers will always be able to opt in or out of any NFT plans that the company comes up with. Wolf thinks that NFTs and blockchain technology are the next step in Zynga’s development, even though some people don’t like them. The game will have tokenized systems that will allow gamers to create new and more realistic ways of making money, owning things, and having value.
